A charity concert, jointly hosted by China Friendship Foundation for Peace & Development and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Assisted by Beijing Philharmonic Chorus, and sponsored by United Bank of Switzerland was held in National Centre for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m., Jun.10, 2012. Gu xiulian, Vice-chairperson of the 10th NPC Standing Committee, Chairperson of China National Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth; Lin Yi, Secretary-General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries were present in the activity. This concert was conducted through music generally for school children mentally handicapped in Beijing and its suburb. The aim of the activity was to inspire and cultivate their interest of music, bring out their potential in music, provide them a chance of fully and equally enjoying music, build a bridge between them and the society, accordingly call all circles of the society to show concern for vulnerable groups and commonly promoting the development of causes of helping disabled and special education. The whole concert was consisted with mentally handicapped children’s vocal music, instruments and dances. The children showed their vigor and spirit of youth through their happy performances. Audience were touched by their innocent and bright smile; every heart was deeply moved by their hope of being understood and accepted by the society, their wish of being as strong and kind as others,  and their desire of chasing the dreams with all efforts. At the end of the concert, all performers and children presented singing A Grateful Heart together which climax the concert. Clapping continued for a long time and filled the whole music hall. As a 4A grade organization for public benefit, China Friendship Foundation for Peace & Development has been dedicating to the cause of education especially special education. Sun Jiazheng, vice-chairman of the CPPCC presents gift to Ambassador Georgakelos  In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Greece, the CPAFFC and Embassy of Greece jointly held a reception on June 7, in Beijing.                                                     At the invitation of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Secretary Office, Vice President of CPAFFC Mr. Jing Dunquan, attended the Fifth Ministerial Conference of CASCF in Tunisia from May 29 to June 4, and made a speech at the conference. The subject of this Ministerial Conference is “Deepen Strategic Cooperation, Promote Common Development”. Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the conference. Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Nabil Elaraby, some ministers and their representatives from other Arab states attended the conference. During Mr. Jing Dunquan’s speech, he reviewed the three previous sessions of “Chinese-Arab Friendship Conference” and made introduction on the preparation of the fourth conference to be held in China in September this year, and another mechanism activity under the China-Arab Cooperation Forum framework----“Chinese-Arab Cities Forum”. After the conference, Mr. Jing Dunquan met Mr. Ahmed Abdelrahman Mohamed, Secretary General of Sudan Council for International People’s Friendship, and the League of Arab-Chinese Friendship Associations. They exchanged their opinions on how to encourage the friendship organizations in Arab states to attend the Fourth Chinese-Arab Friendship Conference.

On the afternoon of May 30, the Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) jointly held an opening ceremony for the Photo Exhibition on China-US Relations to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Nixon''s visit to China and the 39th anniversary of the performance tour of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra in China. Chen Haosu, former President of the CPAFFC, Chan Ping, Vice Chairman of the Beijing People''s Political Consultative Conference and President of the NCPA, Nicholas Platt, Honorary President of the Asia Society, and Thomas F. Skipper, Minister Counsellor of the U.S. Embassy in China, attended the ceremony. On the evening of May 31, Chen Haosu enjoyed the first concert of the Philadelphia Orchestra at the NCPA. The exhibition will be on display at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, together with the Philadelphia Orchestra on its tour in China.

Named "Understand Chinese Culture by Experiencing Its History", a lecture on Chinese history and culture, co-sponsored by Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Confucian Temple and Guozijian and Beijing Mumingtang Culture Co., Ltd., was held in the Yilun Hall, Confucian Temple and Guojiziajin, on Friday, May 25, 2012.

Vice President Feng Zuoku meeting with Sri Lankan friends from various circle.   This year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Sri Lanka, the 60th anniversary of signing of the Rice for Rubber Agreement between China and Sri Lanka and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Maldives. Under this context, at the invitation of Association For Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Co-operation and Maldives-China Friendship Association, Mr. Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the CPAFFC, visited Sri Lanka by leading a 14-people friendship delegation from 16th to 20th of May; after that, Mr. Li Guosheng, Vice President of Henan Provincial People''s Friendship Association visited Maldives by leading a 13-people''s delegation from 20th to 23rd of May. From May 7 to May 18, 2012, the Photo Exhibition of “Improvisation: The US Jazz Masters Embrace the World”, jointly organized by the Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), the US Embassy in China and the Meridian International Center, was held at the NCPA. The exhibition includes more than 80 photos on show recording the classical scenes of “Goodwill Jazz Ambassador” world tour by US famous Jazz masters during the 50s to 70s.

Sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People''''s Republic of China, "Seminar for Leadership of the Friendship-with-China Organizations of French-Speaking African Countries" was held successfully from May 4 to 17, 2012. There were totally 25 participants for the seminar. They participated in different activities like classroom study, sightseeing and the "FOCAC-4th Seminar on China-Africa NGOs". They also paid a study tour to Sichuan Province. Programs in Sichuan included visits to Leshan Hi-tech Development Zone, Zigong Jiuda Salt Company, and the re-construction site of Yingxiu Town after the Wenchuan Earthquake; and study tours to a new socialist countryside, a base of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Sichuan Chuanlong Tractor Plant.
