Vice President Li Jianping Meets with EU-China Friendly Group of European Parliament
Vice President Li Jianping met with EU-China Friendly Group of European Parliament led by MP Nirj Deva.
President Li Jianping welcomed the group and expressed that our association would like to keep good relationship with European Parliament. He hoped that the group could introduce more European friends to China to enhance bilateral exchanges.
Mr. Nirj Deva said that it was a great pleasure to visit China again and China was undergoing great changes and the European Parliament should catch up on the pace of China and respond positively to it. He also mentioned that due to the reelection, half of the MP would be replaced and he was trying to attract young MPs to join the friendly group. Mr. Deva also introduced that the World Green Design Forum would be held in Yangzhou, China next May and he hoped that Chinese and European enterprises would be invited to attend the forum and exchange ideas about green industry. Mr. Derek Vauchan, the vice president of China-EU Friendly Group would like to promote intercollegiate cooperation between China and the Welsh which he represents and he also introduced the cooperation between Zhaoqing, Guangdong and Welsh.
CPAFFC Holds Reception for NCSL Delegation
On October 28th ,Mr Zhang Heqiang,Director General of Department of American and Oceanian Affairs of the CPAFFC,held a reception for U.S. National Conference of State Legislatures Delegation .
Mr.Zhang Heqiang welcomed the delegation and expressed the hope to enhance the cooperation and exchanges with NCSL. The delegation leader, Senate Majority Leader of Iowa General Assembly Michael Gronstal said as sister-state\province, Iowa and Hebei shared close relationship over these years and he will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation at sub-national level with China.
The NCSL delegation is consisted of U.S. State Senators and House Representatives and will visit Beijing, Jilin and Shanghai.
Premier Li Keqiang Meets with Baden-Wuerttemberg Delegation of Germany China Friendship Association
On October 28, Premier Li Keqiang met with Mr. Rainer Dold, President of Germany China Friendship Association of Baden-Wuerttemberg at the Great Hall of the People.
Premier Li was delighted for the reunion with his old friend of Germany and highly valued his effort and contribution to the friendship between Germany and China.
Mr. Rainer Dold was glad to be invited by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) to visit China. He briefed Premier Li on the visit and commented favorably on the tremendous changes taken place since China’s reform and opening up.
Mme Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC, Mr. Xie Hangsheng, Vice Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Li Jianping, Vice President of CPAFFC, and Mr. Michael Clauss, Ambassador of Germany attended the meeting.
Vice President Li Jianping Meets President of Fernando Rielo Foundation of Spain
Vice president Li Jianping met with Hernandez, President of Fernando Rielo Foundation of Spain and his delegation on 23th, October, 2013. Both sides made in-depth discussion on friendly cooperation in fields of culture, education and art. Fernando Rielo Foundation invited CPAFFC to dispatch a delegation to attend the Third World Youth Conference which will be held in Berlin next year.
Fernando Rielo Foundation of Spain was established in 1982, which is a non-profit private foundation for culture. The main purpose is to promote the contacts and exchanges with different culture and tradition of other countries and Spain. The Foundation has been keeping close contact with the CPAFFC since the relationship was established in 1992.
Mme.Gu Xiulian Meets with ASEAN Secretary General Le Luo Minh
On October 18th, Mme. Gu Xiulian, President of China-ASEAN Association (CAA) met with Mr. Le Luo Minh, Secretary General of ASEAN.
Mme.Gu Xiulian briefed Le Luo Minh on the CAA and its exchange programs such as the Conference on ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organizations, Friendship Motorcade Tour, Bringing-Light Tour, Women Entrepreneurs Start-up Forum, Youth Cultural Exchange and so on. Mme. Gu expressed that the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership has enjoyed a “golden decade” since its establishment and will harvest more outcomes in the next “diamond decade”. The CAA is willing to keep contacts and enhance cooperation with ASEAN Secretariat to make more contributions to the people-to-people friendship between the two sides.
Le Luo Minh thanked President Gu’s welcoming and introduction and sang a high praise to the CAA’s activities. He indicated that to strengthen the political mutual-trust and promote the people-to-people exchange are the two major components of ASEAN-China relations. The people-to-people exchange plays an important role to reinforce the political trust and CAA is believed to make some positive efforts in this regard.

Visit of Relatives of Dr. Kotnis
In May, 2013, during his visit to India, Premier Li Keqiang met the relatives of Doctor Kotnis, a famous Indian doctor and a fighter for Internationalism, and invited them to visit China. To carry out Premier Li Keqiang’s invitation, our association hosted the visit of 7 relatives of Dr. Kotnis to China from 14th October to 20th October, headed by Ms. Manorama Kotnisthe, the 3rd younger sister of Dr. Kotnis. The delegation visited Beijing, Shijiazhuang and Shanghai. Mr. Jiang Zhenghua, the President of China India Friendship Association, Mr. Liu Zhenmin, Deputy Foreign Minister of China and Madame Li Xiaolin, President of the CPAFFC met the delegation. Mr. Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the CPAFFC hosted a banquet for the delegation. Mr. Wang Zhanming, Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Hebei Province and Mr. Wang Xiaoshu, Vice President of Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met and hosted a banquet for the delegation respectively.
Turkish-Chinese Women’s Friendship and Cultural Association Visits China
At the invitation of CPAFFC, a 12-member delegation headed by Mrs. Tang Atac, President of Turkish-Chinese Women’s Friendship and Cultural Association, paid a visit to China from Oct. 10 to 20, 2013. During their stay in Beijing, Mrs. Gu Xiulian (Vice Chairperson of the 10th Standing Committee of NPC, Consultant of CPAFFC) met with the delegation. Vice President Feng Zuoku of CPAFFC, Vice President Zhang Jianguo of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Vice President Zhou Yajun of Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Deputy Mayor Dong Lequn of Guilin city), met with or held banquets for the delegation respectively. During the visit, the delegation also had a meeting with Chairperson Jing Jianping of Shaanxi Women’s Federation.
The delegation held discussion with the Chinese side on the fields of establishment of sister city relationship , women’s cooperation, as well as youth exchange.
Vice President Feng Zuoku Meets with Secretary General Iwatani Shigeo of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat
On October 16th, Vice President Feng Zuoku met with Mr. Iwatani Shigeo, Secretary General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS).
Vice President Feng welcomed Mr. Iwatani and briefed him on the work of CPAFFC, China-R.O.K Friendship Association and China-Japan Friendship Association. He introduced the people-to-people cooperation mechanism of Friendship Cities Conference and Cultural Forum among China, Japan and R.O.K held by CPAFFC.
Vice President Feng signified the importance to enhance the friendship and cooperation among the three countries which are close neighbors to each other and sang a praise on TCS’s positive contribution in this regard since its establishment. He expressed the willingness of CPAFFC to strengthen the cooperation with TCS and participate in its activities.
Secretary General Iwatani introduced the new board member of TCS and made positive comments on the role of friendship cities in trilateral cooperation. He expressed willingness to make continuous participation and support in the Friendship Cities Conference and other programs by CPAFFC.
Vice President Xie Yuan Meets Brazilian Media Delegation
On Oct. 14th, Vice President Xie Yuan met and made in-depth exchanges on CPAFFC’s work and China-Brazil people-to-people contacts, with the Brazilian Media Delegation which was visiting China at the CPAFFC’s invitation. Mr. Claudio Garon, the Minister Counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in China was present at the meeting.
Vice President Xie Yuan said, the bilateral relations had been developing smoothly since China and Brazil established diplomatic relations 39 years ago and the high-level exchanges between the two countries were frequent. In 2012, the two countries established overall strategic partnership relation. At the same time of the flouring of official diplomacy, the people-to-people friendly exchanges were also increasing. Mr. Danillo Santos, President of Brazil-China Friendship Association, who visited China and received CPAFFC delegations many times, made abundant works in promoting establishment of China-Brazil friendship cities and deepening exchanges between the two peoples. In August of 2012, the establishment of Brazil-China Friendship Association in Sao Paulo brought new blood into the cause of people-to-people friendship.
Vice President Xie Yuan also expressed that, China and Brazil were both BRIC countries, and had coordinated closely in culture exchanges and multilateral cooperation. The medium between the two countries also contacted more frequently, by setting up office in each other’s country. The CPAFFC would like to take friendship city as a platform to actively promote the exchanges for the Chinese and Brazilian local governments in various fields.

The Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum Held in Vietnam
Organized by the CPAFFC, China-Vietnam Friendship Association, Vietnam-China Friendship Association and Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum was held in Ninh Bình Province of Vietnam from 11-13 October 2013. Chinese and Vietnam delegates from political, economic, academic and media sectors attended the meeting. The Chinese delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Qi Jianguo, Vice President of China-Vietnam Friendship Association and former Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam. The Vietnam delegation was led by Mr. Pham Van Chuong, former Executive Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for External Relations and Vice-President of Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation.
H.E. Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, met with Chinese and Vietnam delegates on 14 October 2013. While expressing welcome to the delegates, he highly appreciated the results of the Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum. He reiterated the firm resolute of the Party, Government and people of Vietnam to constantly consolidate and develop the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership under the guidance of the principle of long-term stability, future-orientation, good-neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation and the spirit of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners", which were proposed by state leaders of Vietnam and China. Nguyen Thien Nhan also expressed hope that non-governmental organizations and people of all sectors of the two countries would make more innovative endeavors for the benefits and interests of the two nations as well as the peace, stability and prosperity of the world, and to push forward all kinds of exchange activities, in a bid to make further contributions to enhancing mutual understanding, trust and friendship ties between Vietnam and China.
The theme of the Fifth Meeting of f the China-Vietnam People’s Forum was “Enhancing Political Mutual Trust and Promote Pragmatic Cooperation”. Delegates had in-depth exchange of ideas on the significance and importance of the development of China-Vietnam relations in a friendly, open, candid and trusted atmosphere. Delegates held the view that that much had been achieved in deepening the bilateral relations and peoples’ mutual trust by frequent exchanges of visits of state leaders and the signing of series of agreements. Delegates also expressed hope that the maritime, onshore and financial cooperation be pushed forward in parallel between the two countries and that the two sides take a new way of thinking in seeking for the resolution of maritime disputes, making new contributions for the healthy development of bilateral relations and the peace, stability and prosperity of the region by turning the sea of disputes into a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation.
