Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with Senior Vice President Timothy J. McBride of UTC
On April 20th, Vice President Xie Yuan met with Senior Vice President Timothy J. McBride of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
Vice President Xie Yuan extended a warm welcome to Timothy J. McBride’s visit and introduced the work CPAFFC has done to promote China-U.S. people-to-people exchanges. VP Xie said CPAFFC highly emphasizes exchanges with U.S. business communities. During the past years, CPAFFC and UTC have maintained good partnership and launched several public welfare activities, which not only helped UTC’s participation in China’s economic development but contributed to a better China-U.S. relationship. China’s economic development is now on a good track. It is hoped that UTC could continue to play the role as a fine example of American enterprises in China, and actively participate in the future development of China-U.S.political and business relations.
Timothy J. McBride conveyed the greetings of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush to CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin. He said that UTC developed well since entering China in the early 20th century and its commitment to China extended over all times.He spoke highly of CPAFFC’s achievements in promoting U.S.-China people-people exchanges and expressed the willingness on behalf of UTC to take part in more activities for the deepening of U.S.-China relations.
The Delegation of First Kazakhstan Presidential Library Visits China
At the invitation and recommendation of the Embassy of China in Kazakhstan, director general of Kazakhstan president’s office and chief librarian of the first Kazakhstan presidential library, Mr. Kassymbekov and his delegation visited Beijing, Shanghai and Xi An from April 12th to 19th.
This visit is intended to understand the state of the Museum and Library in China and applies the findings into the management of their library and museum. Therefore the delegation emphatically inspected The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, The National Library of China, The Shanghai Natural History Museum, The Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center and The Museum of Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi An. During the visit, Ms. Li Xiaolin, President of The CPAFFC, Mr. Yang Zhijin, Vice Minister of Culture, and Mr. Han Yongjin, President of The National Library of China, met with the delegation.
In Beijing, Mr. Kassymbekov, accompanied by Kazakhstan ambassador to China Mr. Shakhrat Nuryshev, laid a wreath at the statue of the famous Kazakhstan poet Abaj Kunanbajev.
Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, President of China-Japan Friendship Association Meets with Mr. KITERA MASATO
President Tang Jiaxuan met with the outgoing Ambassador KITERA MASATO and his wife in Beijing on 19th, April. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. Xiao Qian, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dou Zhongyi, Secretary of President Tang, Mr. Itoh Kouichi, Chief-Minister of the Embassy of Japan in China, attended the meeting.
First of all, President Tang expressed consolation to Kumamoto Prefecture hit by powerful earthquake in southwestern Japan. He also appreciated the great contributions made by Ambassador KITERA MASATO to improve the China and Japan relations. He said, as long as the both sides adhere to the four documents and the four-point principled agreement, grasp the direction and general situation of the development of the bilateral ties, take a long-term perspective and do more work that is beneficial to the Sino-Japanese relations, the bilateral ties will be moved to a stable and healthy development. President Tang hoped that Ambassador KITERA MASATO will continue to concern about the general situation of the Chinese development and the bilateral ties in future. He wished Ambassador KITERA MASATO a great success in the new position.
Ambassador KITERA MASATO thanked Chinese government and CPAFFC for concerning about the earthquake happened in Kumamoto Prefecture and consoling to the Japanese. He said, when he took up his position in 2012, the bilateral tie was faced with great difficulties. After the jointly efforts of the both sides, the China and Japan relations improved gradually. He thanked the China and Japan Friendship Association for supporting his work and he would like to continue concerning about the bilateral relations after leaving his position.
Secretary General Li Xikui Meets with Mr. Chen Xinghui, President of Australian Soong Ching Ling Foundation
Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary General of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC) met with Mr. Chen Xinghui, President of Australian Soong Ching Ling Foundation(ASCLF) and his delegation and provided a banquet for them on 16th, April.
During the meeting, Secretary General Li and President Chen respectively made a brief introduction of the work done by CPAFFC and ASCLF recently. Secretary General Li said they have known each other for many years. Since the ASCLF was established by President Chen, he has been making active contributions to inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of Mr. Sun Yat-Sen and Mme. Soong Ching Ling, to keeping contact and uniting overseas Chinese as well as promoting the communication and cooperation in a variety of fields between China and Australian. President Chen expressed that they would like to continue strengthening the collaboration with the CPAFFC and make contributions to the cause of the people-to-people friendship between the two countries. The both sides also had a discussion on the topic of how to better develop the friendly exchanges between peoples. The delegation also visited the Exhibitions on the History of CPAFFC.

Vice President Lin Yi Meets with Vice Chairman Chung Chong Wook of South Korea Committee to Prepare for Reunification with North
On April 15, Madame Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC, met with a delegation headed by Mr. Chung Chong Wook, Vice Chairman of South Korea Committee to Prepare for Reunification with North, which is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
Vice President Lin Yi conveyed President Li Xiaolin’s greetings to Vice Chairman Chung. She briefed him on some cooperative projects between CPAFFC and its counterparts in Korea and preparation of the first China-Korea Governors Meeting. Madame Lin also expressed the willingness to work together with South Korea Committee to Prepare for Reunification with North to make contribution to regional and world peace.
Vice Chairman Chung thanked Vice President Lin for taking the time to meet them. He spoke highly of the achievement made in various areas since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between Korea and China. He highlighted CPAFFC’s important role in promoting the development of bilateral relations. Mr. Chung introduced the background, organizational structure and missions of South Korea Committee to Prepare for Reunification with North. He said the bilateral people-to-people exchanges enjoys a solid foundation and hoped the two sides continue to push forward our relationship. He also wished the first Korea-China Governors Meeting a great success.
Celebration of the 45th Anniversary of China-Nigeria Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
Organized by the Foreign Ministry of China, Foreign Ministry of Nigeria, the CPAFFC and the Embassy of Nigeria in China, the reception celebrating the 45th anniversary of China-Nigeria diplomatic relations was held in Beijing on April 13. Mr. Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, the Nigerian Foreign Minister , Mme. Lin Yi, the CPAFFC Vice President, Mr. Gu Xiaojie, the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria and other 300 guests from both sides attended the reception.
Mr. Wang Yi said that both China and Nigeria attach great importance to friendly cooperation and view each other as important strategic partner. We understand and support each other’s endeavors to explore the development path in accord with its own national conditions. Our political trust has been enhanced and mutually beneficial cooperation enjoys rapid development. China is willing to uphold our African policy featuring sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith, as well as the right approach to justice and interests, and work with the Nigerian side to jointly open a brighter future for China-Nigeria relations.
Mr. Onyeama spoke highly of the fruitful results of Nigeria-China cooperation over the past 45 years and thanked China for its long-term generous help and great support to Nigeria. He said that Nigeria values our traditional friendship and is willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China in areas like infrastructure construction and energy and resources development, so as to push Nigeria-China strategic partnership to a new high.
Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with Mr.Dario Ruben Trape, Advisor of Civil Association for Cooperation between Argentina and China
Vice President Xie Yuan met with Mr.Dario Ruben Trape, Advisor of Civil Association for Cooperation between Argentina and China and his delegation on 8th April,2016. The both sides had a discussion on the activities planned to be held jointly in this year.
Civil Association for Cooperation between Argentina and China was established in 2013. It has been making great efforts on enhancing the exchanges of the youth and the culture between the two countries. Mr .Dario Ruben Trape is the president of Group San Cristobal. With the support of the company, the Civil Association for Cooperation between Argentina and China holds many activities every year to publicize Chinese culture and promote the mutual understanding of the two peoples. It has been keeping close cooperative relations with the CPAFFC.
President of China-Japan Friendship Association Tang Jiaxuan Meets China-Japan Friendship Communication Delegation from Kyushu, Japan
President of China-Japan Friendship Association Tang Jiaxuan met the main members of the delegation for China-Japan Friendship communication from Kyushu, Japan in Beijing on 8. April, which is led by Matsumoto Ryu, the former Japanese environment minister, president of Japan-China friendship Association in Fukuoka.
President Tang welcomed the visit of the delegation to China and highly evaluated the active efforts of Japan-China Friendship Association in Kyushu area to improve the bilateral relations. he said that this year is the key year in the developing process for improving Sino-Japan relations. Inthis background, the nongovernmental friendship organizations between China and Japan should have the general interests at heart, gather all the forces, take active action and do more helpful and strengthening-base work to promote the development of Sino-Japan relations toward the right direction. Both sides should work hard to further expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, to deepen pragmatic cooperation as well as to promote local and youth exchanges between China and Japan.
President Matsumoto thanked the president Tang for taking time to meet the delegation, he said, in the situation of difficult times of the Japan-China relations, Japan-China Friendship Association in Kyushu area have held the Meetings for Japan-China Friendship Communication in Kyushu in three successive years, they have organized big delegations visiting China and made efforts to improve the bilateral relations. In the future, they will continue to carry out the tradition of promoting the governmental diplomacy through nongovernmental diplomacy and continuously enlarge the foundation of friendship, make contributions for the longstanding Japan-China friendship.
It's the third time for the nongovernmental friendship organizations in Kyushu area to organize massive delegations to visit China. Besides visiting Bejing, they will also visit Tangshan, Dalian, as well as donate cherry trees to Caofeidian China-Japan Industrial Park and hold tree planting events.
The Delegation of Russian Young Entrepreneurs Visits China
At the invitation of CPAFFC, The Deputy director of the Institute of Management, Mr. Sharipov and his delegation visited Beijing and Jiangxi Province from March 28th to April 1st.
During the visit, Mr. Shen Xin, deputy director general of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of CPAFFC and Mr. Li Yuqiang, Deputy Director General of Jiangxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office met with the delegation. The delegation also communicated with the teachers and students of Nanchang University and the representatives of Sichuan International Studies University.
This project will steam up the communication between two countries in the fields of photoelectricity, economy, education, culture.
Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with U.S. State Legislative Leaders Delegation
Vice President Xie Yuan met with U.S. State Legislative Leaders Delegation, headed by Stephen Lakis, president of State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF),on March 28, 2016. The delegation includes legislative leaders from 11 states including California, Michigan and Georgia.
Vice President Xie Yuan expressed a warm welcome to the U.S. State Legislative Leaders Delegation to visit China. He said that to implement the achievements made by President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the U.S. in 2015, and further strengthen China-U.S. sub-national exchanges and cooperation, the CPAFFC and the SLLF formally signed the agreement on the establishment of China-U.S. Sub-national Legislature Exchange Mechanism in December last year, and decided to co-host the First China-U.S. Sub-national Legislature Cooperation Forum in Hawaii in June this year. This delegation comes at an important time before the first forum. He hoped every delegation member make full use of this visit to promote cooperation between their own state and China.
President Lakis expressed his appreciation for the support of CPAFFC. He said the delegation’s visit was aimed at promoting sub-national exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in economic and trade, culture, educationl, health care and other fields. The SLLF is making every effort to prepare for the First China-US Sub-national Cooperation Forum to be held in June, and will organize more U.S. state legislative leaders delegation to China in the future .
